Christmas tree puff pastry

Recipes

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 package (about 150 g) garlic and herb cream cheese spread
  • 1 package (or about 175 g) cooked Gaspésien white ham
  • A few wooden skewers
  • A few olives, for decoration

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
  2. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a work surface to form a rectangle.
  3. In a bowl, soften the cream cheese with a fork until it reaches a spreadable consistency.
  4. Evenly spread the cream cheese over the puff pastry.
  5. Add slices of ham on top.
  6. Place the second sheet of puff pastry over the ham and cheese.
  7. Cut the layered pastry into equal strips.
  8. Carefully fold each strip over itself to form small Christmas trees. Repeat with the remaining strips.
  9. Thread a wooden skewer through the center of each tree to hold it together.
  10. Bake for 15, or until the puff pastry is golden and puffed.
  11. Place the trees on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Decorate with olives.
