Macaroni Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of macaronis
  • 2 slices (1/2 inches thick) of Gaspésien toupie ham, diced
  • 2 cups of cherry tomatos, halved
  • 1 orange bell pepper, diced
  • 3 green oignons, minced
  • 1 cup of green peas
  • 1 block of feta cheese, crumbled
  • Chopped fresh chives (to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Sauce : 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard, black pepper and hot pepper (to taste), thinned with water

Preparation

  1. Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and let the macaroni cool in a large salad bowl.
  2. Add the diced ham, tomatoes, bell pepper, green onions, green peas, feta cheese, and chopped fresh chives to the bowl.
  3. Pour the olive oil over the salad and mix to coat all the ingredients evenly.
  4. Prepare the dressing (in a jar with a lid): add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, pepper, chili, and water, then mix. Add it to the salad and stir again to evenly distribute the flavors.
  5. Refrigerate for at least one hour. Check the seasoning and adjust, if necessary, with salt and/or pepper to your taste.
